A service to commemorate 125 years of the Boys Brigade was held in Carstairs Village Church.
The First Carstairs BB used the occassion for it's enrolment service and to celebrate the organisation funded by Sir William Alexander Smith in 1883.
A special birthday cake was made for the occasion by Mrs Morag Torrance, with everyone in the congregation getting a piece of the action.
The company invited the wives of first captain Harry Morgan and first secretary Jim Macdonald as well as retired captain Ian Brown to cut the cake.
BB memorabilia was also on show at the service conducted by the Rev. Alan Gibson and Rev. Susan Cowell.
Company leader Elizabeth Brown said "It was great to see such a small village could turn out for such a big occasion. It was very encouraging to see the church full and all the boys got a special mug"
Carstairs Boys Brigade was started in 1962 by the late Rev. J.Bowie, the first Captain then was the late Mr. Harry Morgan, and the first officer was the late Mr. J. Macdonald.
The company meet on Tuesday nights,
