Advent Labyrinth

The Advent Labyrinth was held in Carstairs Junction Church  on the 7th,8th & 9th of December. The theme  was "The Journey Of The Wise Men" .  The Labyrinth is a personal journey which can provoke thoughts and feelings regarding life and faith. We began our journey by looking through a set of binoculars enabling us to view a set of questions for us to consider.

Here are just a few of the things we encountered on the journey .........................

                                     BOXES                                                                                                 OASIS

Station 3  was named "Boxes" the wise men took gifts to the baby Jesus................What gift would we like to give?  You were asked to make a box and write your gift on the inside and later place it at the manger.

Above station 4 "the oasis" we thought about the Wise Men and the thirst they must have felt travelling through the desert. We all need water to survive we were encouraged to think about what happens to us if we are not fed spiritually.

Station 7 "God in the flesh"

When we arrived at the manger to lay down our gift, there were chairs available to sit and reflect in the presence of God

.

Station 8 "Light"

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. For to us a child is born? We could take time at this station to think about the places where you would like to see God's light shine.

Station 9 "Doubt"

Doubt is part of a journey, don't give up on the journey because of doubt. We could then light a candle for someone who is doubting.

There were twelve stations to visit and these were just a sample. Scroll down if you wish to see some more photos taken the Labyrinth
